Let’s talk turkey, with a holiday gift set giveaway from Soak and Lorna’s Laces!

For those of us in Canada, this Thursday is just another fantastic day at the office. We’re long past the days of turkey, eaten more apple pie than should be eaten and are well focused on our holiday shopping. In an effort to support our American friends and the start of their weekend feasting and holiday season, we’re offering a couple of our new Lorna’s Laces + Heel holiday gift sets for you! We’ve shipped an abundant amount of gift sets to local yarn shops around the world.

We were packing,

then they were packing.

While the gals at Lorna’s Laces are focused on Turkey fixings like cranberry sauce or gravy, we prefer to ponder the likes of apple pie vs pumpkin pie. We’re giving away one of each of the following sets: Beverly with Peppermint and Purple Club with Scentless.

So the great task? Tell us in a comment whether you prefer apple pie, or pumpkin pie with your Thanksgiving dinner (or any time for that matter) and we’ll choose a random winner for each gift set. You have all weekend to eat pie and ponder your choice. We’ll keep the contest open until Sunday night at midnight. The winners will be announced Monday and the prizes will ship shortly thereafter.

For a chance to win the other two sets, visit http://lornaslaces.blogspot.com/ and follow the instructions there.
If you aren’t one of our lucky winners, you can buy one for yourself or a loved one at your LYS or we have a limited number for sale at  www.soakwash.com. Follow us on facebook, twitter and Ravelry.com. Share the Soak love and good luck!

Happy Turkey, from all of us at Soak.

  91. scotvalkyrie says:

Oh, given the choices, it’s pumpkin, but my favorite is good old pecan pie. It makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it!

  92. Yarnwarrior says:

Hmm. Very hard to say. It depends very much on how the two pies are presented, but I usually end up with a slice of each on my plate. I love the creamy contrast of the pumpkin filling with the pastry crust, and the usually more crunchy texture of the apple pie. As I said, very hard to choose.

  93. Abby M says:

    Pumpkin, can’t live without pumpkin!

  94. Linda Hebb says:

I prefer pumpkin pie myself esp my m-i-l’s recipe

  101. Definitely an apple pie girl 🙂

There doesn’t seem to be anything better than apple pie xD at least to me!

  102. Linette says:

I never knew pumpkin pie deliciousness til I moved to the states. So that’s always a treat for me in the fall. Don’t like apple pie much, but am thinking that an applestrudel would be the best pairing for a “gobble” dinner dessert, with vanilla ice-cream on top

  103. Ina says:

There *must* be pumpkin pie with Thanksgiving dinner! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  104. Wehaf says:

I definitely prefer pumpkin pie! It’s my favorite pie of all.

  105. apple pie with ice-cream!

  106. LaurenS says:

apple pie – or even better apple strudel … and maybe some sweet potato pie to go with that.

  107. Christie Nowak says:

Waaaaaah! I. Can’t. Choose! I make both from scratch, and love both dearly! Though I guess I’ll go with pumpkin, as that is my “assigned” pie for the holiday. (My aunt gets to make the apple pies – Dutch apple, of course! LOL)

  108. I like both pumpkin and apple pie, but i’d rather have any other dessert instead. The lack of chocolate i think might be the issue. But pie with ice cream makes everything better.

  109. Melody says:

Oh Apple Pie is the best and preferred Thanksgiving dessert around here! It just taste’s like fall!

  110. krista rhodes says:

Definitely a pumpkin girl, it’s always felt more rare. & today it’s pumpkin Bourbon cheesecake!

  111. Karina says:

Thanks for offering such nice gifts! I think they would make excellent Xmas presents! Apple or Pumpkin huh? That’s a tough one. I like both. Very much. However, I tend to have apples out the back on my own trees and will opt for making that more often than anything else. When I grow pumpkins, I will make pie from them and they are pretty yummie. It is definately hard to choose though.

  112. mesha says:

What a great package! All pie is delicious, but I’ve got pumpkin pie on the brain this week. Pumpkin pie, maybe with a smidge of ameretto, has my vote.

  113. Carol Perecman says:

Love ’em both, but if I have to choose, pumpkin!

    Carol

  114. mary b. says:

Apple pie any day. Would love to win the kit. Thanks!

  115. Nicole C says:

It just doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving unless there is pumpkin pie involved. Thanks!

  116. Diane Eskritt says:

Apple pie with ice cream or pumpkin with whipped cream…skip the pie and give me just the creams. But if I have to choose, I choose apple.

  117. Robin F. says:

PUMPKIN no contest- This year we made chocolate pumpkin pie!! Winner Winner!

  118. Wendy says:

PUMPKIN, with REAL whipped cream…nothing in a can!

  119. Aimee says:

I could eat pumpkin pie anytime or anything pumpkin for matter.

  120. Pumpkin Pie for Thanksgiving and Apple ANYTHING any other time of the year! Is that decisive or what? : ) Hope you guys have a nice weekend!

  121. Myriam says:

I’d have to say pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving – it’s just right!

  122. Kristin says:

Any other time of the year, I’d say apple pie. But at Thanksgiving, it has to be pumpkin pie – with vanilla bean ice cream 🙂

  123. Rosemary says:

Not pumpkin, not apple but chocolate pecan pie.

  124. Neha R. says:

Pumpkin pie- with ice cream, whipped cream, or choc chips. Mmmmm.

  125. Jamie says:

    Pumpkin all the way!

  126. Definitely pumpkin pie!

  127. phoenixhopes says:

I love them both but my favorite is apple

  128. Lynn says:

    Pumpkin pie for sure!

  129. Shelley says:

I prefer apple, but Thanksgiving is the only time I eat pumpkin.

  130. Kerstin says:

    I’m an apple pie person.
I make my own and several variations as well. With cinnamon ice cream, with custard, with nothing but pie, with raisins…
The smell of a fresh apple pie always lifts the mood and if not that, an apple crumble will certainly brighten the day!

  131. JulieM says:

Although I like apple pie, I prefer an apple cobbler. So, of the two pies, I’ll go with pumpkin!

  132. hortihoney says:

    Pumpkin. With CoolWhip on top!

  133. Meg says:

Again, not a fan of either choice. I think I’m Thanksgiving defective. If I have to choose one, I’ll go with pumpkin, which is actually awesome in cheesecake form. Cooked fruit reminds me of slugs. In my mouth.

    Love, love, love these kits!

  134. ashley says:

Oh, I am all about the pumpkin pie! And pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin beer… 🙂

  135. CaroleP (ohio) says:

Apple Pie – I’ve stuffed with pumpkin for a while, but still like for Thanksgiving! Thanks for the chance to win!

  136. Temple Witch says:

    Oh sheesh, another tough one.

I think I gotta say apple pie. I love all things pumpkin, but a good spiced apple pie with a nice crumbly top and sugar baked on so it’s sort of crunchy… delicious.

Besides, gotta love any dessert that you can pair with cheese.

  137. danielle says:

Neither one is my favorite – but it isnt Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie – and plenty of whip cream of course!

  138. Chels says:

Apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream!

  139. Marianna says:

We love either in this house year round!
