It also depends on the stitch you use. Sometimes, blocking with Soak does work, and over time (weraing your favorite scarf lots), the edges do start to curl again. Fortunately, the scarf is also picking up oils from your skin, and dirt from life in general, so you can re-block it with Soak and it will be flat again.
