Weekly Affirmation: Costuming with Soak
Posted: 21/03/2013 Filed under: Business, Craft, Knitting, lingerie, Soak Stockists, Soak Worthy People, SWmain, SWProducts, SWsoak, Testimonials, Uses for Soak Leave a commentEvery Thursday we post a comment, tweet, email or secret message we’ve received from one of our Soakworthy customers (stores, fans, consumers, friends). Sometimes, on a rough day, it’s really helpful to read an inspiring message from someone in our community. Someone who appreciates what we do. Someone who is as passionate about Soak as we are. We appreciate all the love that comes our way. Really we do.

Our friend Virginia from the Boston based shop Gather Here is currently doing some costuming for the film industry. We have had a lot of fun keeping up with her finds on twitter and instagram, as well as her uses for Soak products at work!
“Wrapping costumes this morning. Using @soakwash for the vintage undergarments. http://instagr.am/p/WUVvnqTF7-/”
“After 14 hours shopping for clothes I need to testify that @soakwash #handmaid is awesome. Handling fiber really does a number on my hands”
Yarn Pop and Soak at Stitches West
Posted: 13/02/2013 Filed under: Knitting, Soak Stockists, Soak Worthy People, SWevents, SWsoak, SWstores, tradeshow, Travel Leave a commentThere are so many knitting and lingerie events around North America, it is hard to keep up! We have a few that we do regularly and we love seeing everyone at those shows. We are super excited that even though we won’t be there personally, Soak still has a presence at many events, marketplaces and tradeshows thanks to our distributors, Louet and Bryson, as well as many independant retailers as well.
Soak will be officially taking up a corner of the Top Shelf Totes, booth number 1140 at Stitches West, February 21-24. We met Lori a few times over the last few months and fell in love with her sewn project bags.
Lori will have the full range of Soak products, including our brand new Yuzu scent and Elvis Paisley Soakbox. This will be Yuzu’s first appearance in a marketplace, we are so excited for you all to see it and smell it.
Yarn Pop has matched up some of her prints with Soak labels to make perfect little gifts. I think that a little knitting bag is the only thing that is missing from a Soakbox! Top Shelf Totes are all fully lined with a large tooth zipper, so they are very sturdy. You can feed your yarn through the grommets in the side so that there is no worry of the yarn getting into a tangly mess inside your purse.
These would also be wonderful for non knitters as a toiletrie bag with some Soak and Handmaid. They look ready to go on an adventure together.
Thank-you so much for hosting us Lori! We wish we could be there as well.
Let’s talk turkey, with a holiday gift set giveaway from Soak and Lorna’s Laces!
Posted: 23/11/2011 Filed under: Craft, Knitting, Soak Fragrances, Soak Stockists, SWHeel, SWLL, SWmain, SWProducts, SWpromotions 142 CommentsFor those of us in Canada, this Thursday is just another fantastic day at the office. We’re long past the days of turkey, eaten more apple pie than should be eaten and are well focused on our holiday shopping. In an effort to support our American friends and the start of their weekend feasting and holiday season, we’re offering a couple of our new Lorna’s Laces + Heel holiday gift sets for you! We’ve shipped an abundant amount of gift sets to local yarn shops around the world.
We were packing,
then they were packing.
While the gals at Lorna’s Laces are focused on Turkey fixings like cranberry sauce or gravy, we prefer to ponder the likes of apple pie vs pumpkin pie. We’re giving away one of each of the following sets: Beverly with Peppermint and Purple Club with Scentless.
So the great task? Tell us in a comment whether you prefer apple pie, or pumpkin pie with your Thanksgiving dinner (or any time for that matter) and we’ll choose a random winner for each gift set. You have all weekend to eat pie and ponder your choice. We’ll keep the contest open until Sunday night at midnight. The winners will be announced Monday and the prizes will ship shortly thereafter.
For a chance to win the other two sets, visit http://lornaslaces.blogspot.com/ and follow the instructions there.
If you aren’t one of our lucky winners, you can buy one for yourself or a loved one at your LYS or we have a limited number for sale at www.soakwash.com. Follow us on facebook, twitter and Ravelry.com. Share the Soak love and good luck!
Happy Turkey, from all of us at Soak.
It’s Friday and I’m bagged. Week 2: Bag that bra.

Grab a coffee or tea and join us each Friday, to learn how these Soak worthy bags came to be. Are you bagged? Send us your favorite bag. If we feature it here, we’ll send you a Soak gift pack, in a pretty bag, of course!
Meet Brachic. Located on Richmond Street in Ottawa, Ontario, Brachic packages the perfect bra in the perfect pink bag. When I bought my insanely beautiful and comfortable purple bra (Salome) during my last visit, I was captivated by Marianne (the owner extraordinaire) as well as her staff, her store and her shopping bags.
While the store is simply lovely, the fitting rooms are brilliant. One even has a cork board for fitting women to exchange business cards! Each has a unique theme to make every woman feel at home.
I brought my pink bag back to the office and I just can’t part with it. It has the style and durability of a re-usable bag, but it’s crisp lines and un-tarnished surface makes it more suited to visual display than daily carry-along. So, we’ve decided to use it as a mini-soak display.
We also shopped and danced ’till we dropped with Marianne at the CurveNY Lingerie trade and fashion show in NY… but that’s a story for another day. Does your shop have a unique and lovely bag? Merchandise with it. Don’t forget to send us the pics!
Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends and customers!

Settling in after a trip to the UK and New York
Posted: 30/03/2009 Filed under: Knitting, Quilting, Soak Stockists, Travel 1 CommentWe’re recently back from launching Soak in the UK at the Craft Stitch and Hobby show.
The launch was amazing- over 15 editorial pick-ups as well as signing on new stockists.
Here’s a sneak peak of our set-up with our new distributor EQS. We’ve also started the sample program in the UK, (Sample program: Are you a Soak retailer having an event or in-store promotion? We’ll happily send free mini-soak treats for your event, to launch and promote Soak to your customers. If you’re a guild/ stitch club member we can send you treats too, just tell us who your favourite shops are. Just ask!) so our stores there can introduce Soak in the same exceptional fashion we do on this side of the ocean.

We're all set up for the UK launch
